Stop as Yield
The Stop as Yield safety campaign was developed to educate all road users about the new law. Starting in 2020, the ‘Stop as Yield’ law (Oregon Senate Bill 998) went into effect in Oregon. The law allows people biking to treat a stop sign or flashing red light as a yield sign. A person riding a bike may now proceed through a stop controlled intersection without coming to a full stop. Watch the video to learn more. Partners can use these assets from this campaign to help educate road users about the law so that people understand why a person riding a bike can now legally treat a stop sign and blinking red signal as a yield sign.
