Ready to win prizes, save money, boost your health, and reduce your carbon footprint by improving your commute? Running two-weeks from Oct. 1-15, Oregon’s Get There Challenge is a timely reason to drive less by using transportation options and working remotely for the chance to win prizes and get recognized.
For the first time ever, we’re changing up the Get There Challenge to encourage some friendly competition by making it team-based. Participants can join an already set up community or worksite team OR they can create a team of up to 10 coworkers, friends, and/or neighbors.
Teams must have at least two people to be eligible for statewide prizes, but we recommend teams with at least four members. You can have a maximum of 10 team members. Anyone who is 18 years of age or older and lives or works in Oregon is eligible to participate.
Teams across Oregon will compete for recognition and prizes by logging trips taken by bike, foot, carpool, vanpool, and transit and remote work days into Get There Connect during the two-week challenge. Trips can include travel for any purpose (work or personal). Team rankings will be normalized using a formula based on participation percentage to remove the size advantage of larger teams.
We’re so excited about all the prizes you and your team can win this year! Here’s what’s in store:
- Participants can win a $50 Next Adventure gift card Sept. 5 through Sept. 30 by unlocking early bird achievements here. Here are the individual achievements:
- If you’re not already a Get There Connect user, create an account for free and log at least one trip before the challenge starts.
- Plan a trip using Get There Connect, send a screenshot, and relay what transportation options you plan to use during the challenge.
- Start or join a team.
- Week 1
- Each member of the team who logs the first 40 trips or remote work days will win a $50 Ruffwear gift card
- Week 2

- Grand Prizes
- The Grand Prize of $1000 and top honors will go to the team who has the highest score (avg trips per team member) at the end of the Challenge.
- Each member of the team that reduces the most drive-alone miles will win a $100 gift card from Clever Cycles, a water bottle, and Get There swag

Here are the steps and what’s needed to create a team for this year’s Get There Challenge:
- Create an account for free in Get There Connect or log in here.

After creating your team you’ll receive a unique team URL that you can provide others to use in joining your team. You can create a team up until Oct. 11 (during the second week of the Get There Challenge; commute option trips/remote work days can be retroactively logged).
Your coworkers, friends, and neighbors can join your team by providing them with your unique team URL link. They’ll need to have an account set up in Get There Connect to join your team.
Here are the steps:
- Share the specific team URL link to those you want to join your team:
- Log on to Get There Connect.
- Navigate to Programs > Challenges > 2023 Get There Challenge
- Click on “View Team” in the 2023 Get There Challenge dashboard
- Click on “Copy Team URL” and start sharing!
Participants can also navigate to the Get There Challenge page and search for your team name in the search bar. People that you don’t send the link to may request to join your team. A team join request will be sent to your email. Follow the instructions in the email to accept and invite them to join your team.
We’ve made it easy for you to invite others to join your team and bring them to victory!
Here are some tips:
