Bike Month FAQ’s

 

The 2025 Bike Month Challenge is the greater Portland area’s challenge to help make Oregon a better place to live, work, and play. We are encouraging residents to use a bike for more trips during May for the chance to win prizes and compete against other teams.

The 2025 Bike Month Challenge will start on May 1 and end on May 30, to celebrate National Bike Month. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to try biking.

If you are not already a Get There user – registration is quick and easy. Click the orange tab in the upper right corner to sign up.

To find the Challenge, click Programs in the top menu bar of any page then click Challenges to see Bike Month Challenge. If it does not appear under Active, click the Available button. You’ll see a big blue arrow on the right side of the screen to click if Bike Month Challenge is not the first Challenge you see under Available.

Join a team: If you were sent a link to join a team, you must (1) register at the link (2) join the challenge, and (3) click the team link provided by your Team Captain. 

Create a team: Visit the Challenge page and click the Create a Team button. A unique link will be provided for you to invite others to your team. Your team can be just you!

Anyone who is 18 years of age or older and lives or works in Oregon is eligible to participate and win. 

  • To qualify for weekly prizes you must log 2 bike trips, which may be a round trip. 
  • To qualify for the monthly grand prize, you must log 2 bike trips every full week in May from May 5 to May 31. 

Any trip that requires travel from one location to a second location using a manual bike or e-bike counts as a trip. Trips can include travel for any purpose (work or personal) during the Challenge. Trips can be logged for the challenge (not just weekdays).

Primary contacts for sponsors of the Get There Car Free Challenge and ODOT Challenge staff and its contractors are not eligible to win prizes.

We have some exciting prizes you can win this year! All eligible participants will be entered into a raffle to win the following prizes.
